very bad greens
golf course needs serious help ...greens was the worst I have ever seen. Most of the fairways was over grown and looked like cow pasture. Only two greens was 50% useable, the others was covered in crab grass and dirt.Save your time &money go somewhere else.
DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE!
Booked tee time. Have never played course before but was looking for some place new to play. So we get there before our scheduled tee time and no cars in parking lot. That was the first red flag. Then the gentleman in the shop comes out to the parking lot and tells us that the course is in poor shape. He basically told us not to play the course. I explained that I had booked a tee time through GOLF NOW and the play was already paid for. Well we walk out to the green on 18 and look at the fairway on hole 1. OH MY! I have never seen conditions so poor. No mowing, fairway grass was grown up and the greens were tall. Will never return. Golf Now worked with me to help me get matters straightened out. Thanks Golf Now. To GOLFNOW, remove these guys from your site, so no one else goes through that.
fabulous natural scenic beauty
this course has a fabulous scenic beauty, designed for all the types of golfers from beginners to the advanced, it s a mix of somewhat challenges to great challenges, friendly staff and the greens are maintained great all the time. very good group discounts and super deals on memberships, smart golfers like me almost play for the most economic budget, the new owners are making great changes and I encourage the golfers to support them to increase the great golfing experience, the restaurant has now the full bar license and can get the hard drinks as well as cocktails after great golfing.
What happened!!!
Played here for years, always enjoyable. Then course was sold in sept 2015 and took nose dive. Friendly and helpful staff is gone. New owners seem more interested in painting pro shop then upkeep of the greens. Staff as friendly as rabid dog. I hope the course is sold again to some one who knows what they're doing so I can play there once again.
very proffessionally maintained golf course
very good lay out of the golf course, the challenges are good.
very friendly staff
I played this course for the first time yesterday and it is a great course for the money and you could not ask for a nicer staff. The greens where in good shape very soft and true.
Quiet course
Overall, my dad and I had a good time at this course. It was incredibly quiet, and we did not encounter more than two other groups the whole day. The course was in pretty good shape, however some of the greens had many sandy patches which made putting very difficult. However, the quiet nature of the course and the friendliness of the staff, combined with the incredibly low price I got through GolfNow, would definitely have me return.
Course was in very good shape.
there were a few greens that needed some attention but the fairways were in really good shape and the tee boxes were very good as well. I enjoyed the round and will go back very soon. the staff members were very friendly and helpful as well.
Nice layout.. Sufficient challenge throughout.
Course was maintained. The greens were fast. The holes with water offered a test of club selection and driving distance. I enjoyed the round.
Great shot chances
A lot of good risk/reward shots to be had over water. A good third of the course plays over water which is something I like to have to challenge myself. The greens need some love, a scorcher of a summer left them with patches not holding seed. Messes with putting lines, but will hold an approach shot fairly well. Bunkers are spaced nicely and open front greens make for easy runs at the hole. All around a good value for the money at the very least.
rough around the edges, no paved cartpaths, but decent track
Rough around the edges, very few paved cartpaths, but decent and inexpensive for area track
Fun course to hang out with buddies
Course was a nice challenge. Greens are still coming in and a couple of tee boxes needs to be leveled.
Course Conditions Vary - Not Good Fall 2013
I have a soft spot for this course, given my 'muni-redneck golf heritage' from back in the 1960's in Missouri. In a nutshell the fairways have always been a bit lacking in conditioning. And outside the fairways has always been unpredictable (wash out areas, etc - but these are places where you aren't supposed to hit your ball anyway).
However, the greens have typically been at least OK. But as of mid Sept. 2013, even the greens were a mess (inadequate sanding from the last aeration and LOTS of crabgrass and bare areas).
On the plus side is that this course is always inexpensive and has a number of very interesting holes (particularly on the back side). And several years ago I recall the greens 'really going downhill' and somehow they managed to pull them back quickly. So maybe they will do this again.
But until you have information that the greens have improved, I would avoid this course regardless of the price. However, if the greens recover again then (IMHO) this course is worth the prices that they typically charge.
Great bang for your buck
A very relaxed and fun course for the Sandhills. Collared shirt and any pants. It's not perfect, it's not beautiful, but it's fun and challenging. For the price you pay, it's a terrific deal. Had a great day at the course.
Staff very rude. If only course on plant would QUIT !
WILL TELL EVERYONE THAT I WILL SELL MY CLUBS BEFORE EVERY PLAYING THERE AGAIN!!!!
Great course
To start off with, the Bluff is a great course and has always been in good shape with many amenities such as a practice green, driving range, and chipping area only found in top tier golf clubs and resorts. Overall, a good club well worth the money. Never a dull hole on the course.
Course was beat
Avoid this pasture. it was in horrible condition and the clientele were loud and obnoxious. carts were hand-me-downs from Andrews AFB, and the bags wouldn't stay on them (straps wouldn't stay tight and bags fell). Greens were so bad we had to take relief on the collar from weeds....
Good Round of Golf
Course was in much better shape then the last time i played it. No real complaints about anything course related. Great round for a cheap price.
